Delivery methodology

Sydac simulators are designed, developed and qualified according to the V-model System Engineering Process. The process emphasizes requirements-driven design and testing. All design elements and acceptance tests are traceable to one or more system requirements and every requirement is addressed by at least one design element and acceptance test.

Computer Based Training & Assessment web-enabled modules are developed according to the Agile Scrum methodology, which emphasizes ongoing customer’s assessment of completed work.

The development of the CBTA modules is ideally suited to the Agile Scrum methodology, where requirements cannot be fully collected at the beginning of the development cycle and where continuous customer involvement is critical.

The advantages to using Agile Scrum are:

  • A risk reduction mechanism
  • A leaner software development process
  • A framework that emphasizes rapid and flexible response to change

The Agile Scrum methodology breaks down project tasks into small increments (i.e. Sprint). Requirements and solutions evolve through iterative and incremental development. This minimizes overall risk and allows changes to be quickly applied.

At the start of a Sprint, Sydac team members commit to delivering a number of features listed on the product backlog, i.e. the CBTA deliverables.

At the end of the Sprint, a Sprint Review is conducted during which the team demonstrates the new features to the product owner and other interested stakeholders who provide feedback to influence the next Sprint.
